HP 8200 Elite

I had a few things to say about this stationary computer

Watch the video below to hear why you should (or shouldn't) get it for yourself. I recorded this during the October 19th, 2018 live stream. The video below starts right when we started discussing the HP 8200 Elite.

I make new recommendations according to latest rebates every Friday, and you can see my latest picks here.

Quick Description

An older computer, it's been refurbished with the latest version of windows and still has a lot to offer if you do not need the latest, greatest thing. It's a worthy contender for homework, online searches, Email and social media.

Other Considerations

Speakerless. This stationary computer needs external speakers to play sounds. Your options are to hook it up to a TV or a monitor with built-in speakers, use external speakers or a headset.$0-$500

No Camera or Microphone. If your plans include skyping with family members, you would need a webcam or, for best results, a headset and microphone.$40-$380

Screenless. If you don't already have a monitor from your last computer, you could connect this stationary computer to a TV or get a new monitor.$115-$650

No Wi-Fi. This stationary computer cannot connect to a wireless network out-of-the-box. This is a common situation with high-end desktop computers because because wired networks usually perform better than Wi-Fi. If you do not have the option to use a wired network, a USB WiFi Receiver can resolve that easily.$15-$75

Assuming you are starting over fresh, you can expect to spend $290 on accessories, for a total cost of $520.

What it's capable of

Programs, Apps and Games it will handle

Activity ratings are good but sometimes, you want to be absolutely sure your next purchase will be able to run a specific piece of software.

A 1 star rating means the program'll be usable (according to the developer's own definition; some are more demanding than others); 3 stars mean recommended specs are met with this device; 5 stars will means you will have plenty of overhead to handle uncommon uses of that program like mods, plug-ins and more.
